Summary of 2024 CSI Annual Meeting of Secretary-Generals

2024 CSI Annual Meeting of Secretary-Generals was held during March 8-10 in Haikou City, Hainan Province. 53 delegates from local societies, journal editorial offices and CSI committees attended the meeting and gave annual reports.


Prof. Yuzhang Wu, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, CSI President, gave a speech of how to improve political awareness and strengthen strategic thinking. He elaborated the importance of combining scientists’ missions with the national strategies and policies. Prof. Wu emphasized that as Chinese immunologists we should face the forefront of the world's science and technology, the main economic battlefield, the major needs of the country, and the people's lives and health. He also quoted from the recent government report that modern society requires innovation-driven development and modernization of the industrial system, using the new quality productive forces. We immunologists are driven to dedicate ourselves to our people and the life science development.


Secretary-Generals from 27 local societies, 3 journals and 14 CSI committees gave annual reports of their works and plans for the 2024 year. The local immunological societies are from: Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunan, Hainan, Fujian, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Ningxia. 


Prof. Bo Huang, CSI Secretary-General, introduced the 2024 CSI Annual Meeting and explained the rules and important issues concerning the 9th CSI General Assembly, which will vote the CSI council members and executives of next term. During the reports and speeches, delegates shared experiences of society running, made proposals of co-organization of meetings and discussed the future cooperation between societies and committees.

After the meeting, delegates visited Red Detachment of Women Memorial Garden and the venue of Boao Forum for Asia as the historical and cultural education tour.
